Network marketing prospecting is an interesting topic for many of us, as it is our main business model. In this article we are going to look at how being a solutions provider can help you recruit more prospects, and I am sure you will agree that is a worthy aim.

What happens when you set yourself up as a solution provider is that the problems your potential clients have will lead them to you. You will literally be recommended by clients to other clients because of your ability to solve a problem, and when you have their attention you can work at turning them into a client. This is largely the principals behind network marketing prospecting, and can often be used to great affect.

One network marketing prospecting super plan, is to set yourself up as a web designer. After designing a website for a client, they will need somewhere to host it. By offering to register the domain they want and set up hosting, you can put their website under a reseller hosting account and make a monthly profit even after the initial sale is over. In this way you can use the option of being a solution provider as your means of network marketing prospecting, and build a long term income from offering web design at a cheaper cost than it is actually worth taking the job.

I just want to make sure you understand the point, so I am going to labor it. Think of a service you could provide to a customer. Here are some examples:

Freelance writer

Back link creation

Write autoresponder courses

Web designer

Copywriter

As you can see any of those jobs allow the opportunity for network marketing prospecting, and I will explain how.

If you were a writer you could offer your prospects a special deal on web hosting, available only to your clients.

As a back link creator you could offer to create so many back links free to the root domain of a hosting account you would sign them up to.

If you offer to write autoresponder courses, you could offer to help set their autoresponder up for free. In the process you sign them up under your affiliate link, thus giving you a monthly residual income.

As a web designer or copywriter, you again could offer special back linking deals on any sales page hosted under a reseller account you control.

These are just a few network marketing prospecting tips for you, but the key is in the loss leader. A loss leader is a technique used by super market chains and McDonald’s alike. It involves publicly announcing a key benefit you offer that is priced below what it is worth doing the job for, but then making money by selling your customers something extra in the process. As a network marketing prospecting technique it works like a charm, and allows you to build vital connections that will help to boost your main business.

There are a number of reasons why personal branding is important, and I intend to hammer home the point, so be warned.

To start with an opportunity that may seem brilliant today, may seem out dated tomorrow, and if you have built your business around this brand, you’re in trouble. Imagine if Google had a free tool, and you build your entire business around teaching people to use it. All of a sudden Google or someone else brings out a better tool and your website is left as the solar powered gramophone. Interesting but completely pointless.

Now consider if you had concentrated on personal branding, and instead of your product or course, people came to hear what you say. If its you not your product you have built up, then when the next big thing comes out, they all rush to see what you have to say.

The internet changes everyday, piece by piece in small but definite ways. Either you are building a business based around your personal branding, or the branding of your product. The trick is to maintain the ability to be fluid like the market you are operating in. Be like Google who change as necessary, and not Bing who have left themselves no where to go.

Hopefully you now understand that if you aren’t working on personal branding, you are wasting your time. On the other-hand, if you build your business around your personal reputation then the changes that come to the industry will not affect you. I know…I know, you now agree, but how do you do it?

Personal branding really isn’t as hard as you may think. To start with you need to forget about promoting other guru’s and so called experts, and seize that role for yourself. If you publicly continue talking about how someone else’s product is so great, and how wonderful they are, then you just look a fool. If the other person knows so much, why are they listening to you instead of going to listen to the source. That person who did work on personal branding and managed to get you to so heartily recommend them, isn’t going to return the favor. They will not only sell to the customer, but also increase their reputation and hopefully sell again and again to them.

Personal branding lesson 2

One of the most important methods for personal branding you can use involves your messages to your list. Forget generic sales jargon, and try making it personal. Don’t forget the old axiom “people buy from people,” because it is as true online as offline.

If you use personal branding in your email campaigns, you will see an improvement in your sales ratio. So to achieve this personal branding effect you need to do several things.

Include something personal

Mention your family

Talk about how you did something, instead of how they should do it

Ask for their opinions

The trick with personal branding is to become a real person, and break through the computer barrier to your readers. Don’t worry this isn’t hard, you just have to forget most of the sales rubbish you have learned from so called guru’s. If you are on vacation with your family, don’t be afraid to mention it. Often mentioning something from your day to day life that is similar to their’s will cause more of a connection than some brilliantly bullet pointed sales lingo.

Do talk about your family in your emails, and do ask for peoples opinions. Remember your aim with personal branding is primarily to let them know you are a real person.

Now when the market shifts and you are left out in the cold, it doesn’t matter. If you have worked on personal branding, the first place your customers will come to look for something better is you. Seriously you will receive emails telling you that they would rather buy from you, but someone else is offering blah blah, and could you offer something similar.

Always build your name instead of the product you are promoting. If you have personally branded yourself sufficiently shifts in the market cannot harm you, and if your product becomes inferior you can update it without a hitch.

So what does personal branding really mean? It means being you just as hard as you can, and letting people see. I am not suggesting something complicated, just that you allow your personality to come across in your words, and build a reputation with your list and website visitors.

Wouldn’t it be nice to be the leader in your industry? It would be like your business being a giant like Wal-Mart or Microsoft. When your business presence can affect change in the market, you have achieved market dominance.

What is market dominance? As you have probably guessed, it involves becoming very big in the business world. Your product or brand name has risen to new heights and is a household name somewhere in your country.

For a product, company, brand, or service to have market dominance, it has to have the lion’s share of the market in a particular area. Market dominance can spread nationwide, but it doesn’t have to. In a certain geographic area, your business may have cornered the market in silly shoelaces or something because everyone wants a pair.

Market dominance doesn’t happen without competition. There are others around who sell products similar to yours, but they don’t sell as well. The closest competition doesn’t have a high percentage of the market share.

Let’s define market share. You hear that term a lot. In any market, such as retail sales, your business will have a majority share – usually at least fifty percent – to be declared as having a dominant market share. Market share is not a precise indicator of how well you are doing. Market share changes depending on customer sales, governmental regulations, and other markets.

A business that has achieved market dominance makes it hard for other businesses of that type to enter into competition in the geographic area. There is not enough of a market left for them to compete since you control most of it.

A business that has a large market share also has market power and the potential for market dominance. Market power is a great thing to have. Even if you manufacture less of your products, you don’t have to change the price.

Let’s say that you sell glass bowls. If the market starts to go south and other companies are slashing prices, you don’t have to, because you have such a large market share that people will still pay what you ask for your products. One reason why people will still pay your asking price is quality and a unique product they can’t find anywhere else.

Market dominance doesn’t automatically transfer from one area to another. It depends on the strength and adaptability of your product in the market. If you began to offer your product internationally, you have the potential to dominate that market as well, but it is not a certainty. The competition there may be different and stronger.

Gaining market dominance is certainly something to strive for. Look to gain a foothold in your market by building your brand and a quality product that everyone can get behind.
